During a train trip from Chicago in the late 1940s, A.W. Tozer began to work on The Pursuit of God. He wrote all night long, the words coming to him as fast as he could put them down. By the next morning, when the train pulled into McAllen, Texas, the rough draft was done.
Although written in such a remarkably short period of time, the depth, clarity and completeness of Tozer's message has made The Pursuit of God an enduring favorite -- about 1.7 million copies in print in 15 languages.
Prepare yourself for a deeply meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Tozer's Best Dec 12, 2009
I decided I needed to read this book because I always saw it on all the lists of top Christian books. Tozer wrote The Pursuit of God almost 60 years ago to help believers have a deeper awareness of the King of the Nations. It's a fast read, but one that should probably be read more than once. I enjoyed the prayers at the end of each of the ten chapters and found the retelling of the story of Abraham and Isaac in The Blessedness of Possessing Nothing chapter to be particularly meaningful. Some interesting facts that I learned about Tozer include that he was once a pastor in Indianapolis, and he entered the ministry without either high school or college training. He educated himself by years of diligent study and a constant prayerful seeking of the mind of God. Absolutely remarkable and very inspiring. I'm glad I read this book and would recommend it to those who truly want to learn how to nourish their soul.

Excellent Book Nov 2, 2009
The classic should be read by all. It inspires all who read it to grow closer to God. One chapter in particular speaks of leaving the World behind. Do we really need all of our many possessions? One who leads a simple life is more inclined to serve God and grow close to him. A person who has many possessions is more inclined to want more possessions and worry about themselves.
The Pursuit of God is a hisorical masterpiece. Sep 24, 2009
Tozer had a special insight to the spirual side of the human being. This is one of those books that you will want to read over and over to continually pull yourself closer to a deeper relationship with God.
THIS EDITION Sep 16, 2009
The Pursuit of God = great, I am not critiquing the book itself.
This edition of the book = fail. I read it with a group of people and it turns out there are many typos and even missing sentences in this edition. I'm not sure it was even proofread. Get the book. Don't get this one.
